Within Enterprise Health there are several things considered as Charts. Charts can be employers, providers, provider organizations, assets, contacts, patients, and more. The chart “Type” is a concept used to control the type of data that should be displayed for each chart type which includes chart tabs, document types, appointment types, visit types, and relation types. The user only sees chart tabs that are relevant for that patient/type of record, without knowing anything about that patient/record other than his pat_id (and/or the partition(s) the patient is in). The system uses what are known as chart tabs within each chart. These are similar to chart dividers, or chart tabs, found within paper charts. They are simply an easy means to organize and track all of the documentation within a chart. These options will appear correctly based on whichever “type” of patient record you are in. This feature is not used to differentiate types of patients, but different types of records so that only pertinent chart tabs and other data will appear.
